Karter is a moving man!!

Karter used to get so frustrated being on his tummy, but now that the little man can get places he is one happy camper. This also means that he is getting into everything and mommy has to watch him like a hawk.

Pioneer Day

In our ward Dustin and I are the activities committee, a job that I loathe, but this year we were put in charge of the Vernal 3rd ward float for the Pioneer day parade. We decided that we would just do a mass float decorating party, so we announced in church for everyone that would be willing to help should meet at our house on Wednesday at 6pm (the parade was Friday). So at six there was no one at our house to help, but typical Mormons running on Mormon standard time, we had a great group of people there around 6:15. Needless to say we finished the float late Thursday night with the help of Dustin's mom and surprisingly it took fist place.

Cute Pictures of Karter for my Family

Here you go Mom and Jenna (cause she was the one bugging me) I thought I would post some pictures of Karter just for you guys.

Karter with his jellycat lion that his grandma Chris in Idaho bought for him.

This is the blanket that his mommy made for him (go me!)

His first raw green been, although his face says awful he really did like it.

Sleeping with Roo in mommy and daddy's bed.

Using the boppy for tummy time, because he really doesn't like being on his belly, but today he did get up on his knees (we better get this house baby proofed!).

This is his new jumper to help him excersise his legs and get some of his energy out, cause he does have a lot of it.

Sitting in the lovesac wearing the outfit grandpa Dave bought him at the ESPN Zone in DC.

Sitting in his bumbo chair chewing on his teething ring.

Major Catch up

So, a lot has happened since my last post, but please forgive me I never have time to just sit down and blog. But here goes. So we went to Washington DC for my sister Jenna's wedding and it was beautiful, we got absolutely no sleep between Karter not sleeping and a couple that screamed at each other all night we were tired, but it was wonderful and I think it was what she has always dreamed of which means it was perfect. We toured the capital building and got to see the office of the representative from Alaska, as you can see Dustin was in heaven.

While we were in DC Karter had his sixth month birthday and we returned to four more teeth coming through and shots. As you can see he does sick so well. So, he slept with Dustin and I for a week or so. Also while we were there Dustin and I had our two year anniversary, seriously where does the time go? Lucky for us we treated ourselves to a bigger bed to accomodate all of our co-sleepers.

The last weekend in June we went camping with Stuart, Holly, Tiffany, and Christopher for the power plant camp-out and although it started out with a lot of rain, it turned out to be a really fun trip. Karter did really well and got to go on his first four-wheeler ride. Also he got outfitted in a dew rag that matched his grandma Holly's so that the poor kid didn't burn his head (he is such a moon baby). Somewhere in there we also celebrated Father's day and since Karter has such a great dad he got him sattelite radio (since he had been begging for so long).
For the fourth of July Bryan, Hayley, and the boys came to Vernal from Logan, it was so much fun having them here for the parade, fireworks, and Tiffany's birthday. I really think Karter is starting to enjoy his cousins. Him and McCrae were in the wading pool together and Kellon decided that he wanted to try out the whole binkie thing and Karter was so sweet and shared. Really Kellon took it, tried it out, and decided that Karter was crazy, because there was nothing coming out of the nipple. Karter also turned seven months while they were here and those darn top teeth that were trying so hard to get through finally came down (he now has six).

Rain, Rain, Go away come again another day!

So, this weekend was the maiden voyage of the summer camping season and all it did was rain. For the most part we all had a really good time, but we were truly confined to the trailers, because outside it was a muddy mess. Poor Karter doesn't travel well and had a hard time napping during the day and sleeping at night, so when we came home Sunday he went to bed early and had a really good nights sleep in his own bed. Glad that we went and had a mini staycation even though it was a bust with the rainy weather, it was good to get out of the house and do a little relaxing.

Such a cute boy!!!

I had to post this picture from his session with Tiffany, because it was one of my favorites.

Best of Friends

We were really worried about how Roo would handle Karter, since he really doesn't love being around kids. For the most part he hides from them, but I was afraid we would have to choose between baby and dog (the baby would have won). Luckily we didn't, and for the most part Roo doesn't show a lot of interest, but we were all sleeping in my bed and I woke up to the most adorable sight, Roo cuddled up to his buddy, both of them fast asleep.

Teeth

Karter has his two bottom teeth that have just recently shown up, you can see them popping up out of the gums, but you can't quite see them when he smiles yet, but when you can I will for sure post his sweet little teeth.

Four Month Pics

Karter go his 4 month pictures taken with Tiffany and these are the two I have seen so far and I love them. He is so adorable.

Bad Day for Mommy

So, Sunday was a really bad day for this mommy and really the one who suffered was Karter. I can look back and smile about it now, but I felt like the worst Mom EVER!! I wouldn't share this, but I know that my friends and family can sypathize with me. So, to start out the day Dustin was sicker than a dog :( making him unable to help me. So here is a play by play of the bad mommy moves of the day:
Bad mommy move number one was when Karter had a blowout and it was all over my carpet plus my sweet little boy kept putting his hands in it lol. So, I am trying to get him cleaned up at least enough to make it to the tub and get it off his hands so that he doesn't stick them in his mouth, but I can't get into the bathroom, because Dustin is throwing up and we don't want to get sick too. Finally we get in there and poor baby is screaming, because the tub is cold and I can't hold him cause he is covered in poo.
Bad mommy mover number two: Karter and I were playing on the couch when he spit up all over my shirt, so I sat him down on the couch to take off my shirt. I stood up and turned around just in time to see him rolling himself off onto the floor. It was horrible, like slow motion I saw it happening and was unable to do anything to stop it. I felt helpless to save my poor child.
Ok so the last bad mommy move of the day was when I was clipping his nails and he jerked away and I cut one too short, luckily no blood but believe me did I felt bad when he squealed at me.
Although there were so many bad parts of the day, when we were laying there hanging out before bed he was all smiles and laughs it was ok that I was a bad mommy sometimes cause he still loved me, so luckily the day must not have been too traumatizing. Thank heavens that day is over and that I have people to help me.

Ms. Crafty

I haven't blogged in a while, but I have been busy trying to be more domestic. My garden is growing well and I am in the process of making a quiet book and a blanket for baby Karter. Who knew that it was in me, but it is!! (Pictures coming soon!!)

Shots

Yesterday was Karter's four month check up with the doctor and the poor baby had to get his vaccination shots. At his two month appointment I totally chickened out and had my sister-in-law take him in for me while I sat out in the waiting room. This time Dustin went with me and I thought I would be brave and stay there to comfort my son, big mistake. I looked like such a baby, because the second they did it and he let out that scream of pain I was in tears. What a wimp, but I can't handle seeing my baby in pain. It didn't last long and he was over it, but it broke my heart. He is such a brave little boy and quite the trooper, because this morning we went and had his four month pics and family pics taken and he was happy and smiling for a good majority of the time. But after that he was tired and just didn't feel well so he spent the rest of the day sleeping it off.

Mommy's big boy

My big boy finally sleeping in his crib and helping his dad feed him by holding the bottle. We really have grown up tons. It was such an accomplishment to get to this stage.

Handsom Little Man

Isn't Karter just the cutest in his little easter outfit! I looked everywhere for something cute and I finally decided on this little preppy outfit from The Children's Place and he is so handsome!!

Easter with the cousins

For Easter weekend the rest of the Wilkins crew came from Logan to spend the time with family. Kellon was playing while McCrae dyed eggs and he had such a good time. He is such a funny kid, because he loves to pose for pictures as well as take them, everytime he would take a picture of someone he would say "big smiles." He also went on an Easter egg hunt while they were here in Vernal, and after he found each egg he had to open it and discover what was inside.

Busy Bee

Karter's New Exer-Saucer! We have a very active or spirited little boy and are constantly having to look for activities to keep him busy. So, this was a great idea, because there is so much to do and he really loves to push the buttons and here the animal sounds and music.

Easter Baskets!!!

The easter bunny had to come early this year, so the boys got their easter baskets on conference Sunday morning, because Dustin has to work on easter this year. It was fun to be able to do this for all of my boys. Even Roo got an easter duck!!!

Karter's Lullaby Seahorse

My good friend Tara gave me a tip about this little seahorse and it is WONDERFUL!!! Karter loves it and can watch it before naps or just to entertain himself in the car seat or of course, the bouncy chair.

Rice Cereal!!

Karter got to try some of that good rice cereal stuff!! He just tried a little that I mixed with breast milk and it actually went pretty good. He was a little weirded out by the spoon, but after a little while he did pretty good, but mostly he was sucking it off the spoon. It was fun times!

Thank the heavens for the In-Laws!!

Thanks to my husbands kick but parents we have a garden this year and lets cross our fingers it is going to grow and produce edible food!! Holly helped me plant a bunch of stuff yesterday and Stuart helped Dustin with the fence to keep those nasty dogs out. I am so excited to see where this venture takes us, the hope is a major save in money!!

Tuesday, March 31, 2009

Ok so I am so terrible at this blog thing, but I do try. So Karter is going to be four months old on April 5th and holy cow has he grown. It is unbelievable how fast they change and grow up, the other day he almost rolled over and sadly that will end hanging out on the bed while mom is getting ready in the morning. Our current milestone has been moving from sleeping in the bouncy chair in our room and into the crib in the nursery and thankfully it has gone much better than Dustin or I could have imagined. Someday we will be able to sleep through the night again, but probably not until we are in our fifties.

Baby Karter

Wow it has been a really long time since I have gotten on here and posted anything, but I thought that I would put a current post and let everyone know what is going on with the Wilkins. Well, the biggest news is that birth of Karter David Wilkins on December 5, 2008. He made his appearance after 19 hours of labor followed by an unfortunate c-section. He was 20 inches long and 8 lbs. 6 oz. and Dustin and I could not be happier or more proud of our little guy. He will be 5 wks. old this Friday and time just flies, I cannot believe how much he has grown and changed in such a short time. We love him and everything is going really well.
